I was born in this region of Spain, but until now, when I had to emigrate, I had not realized the beauty of my green and fertile land.
Whenever I go to see my family, I usually choose an area of Asturias to tour further. This time I chose, with my husband, the City Council Chambers and to lodge a rural hotel framed on top of a valley of green so intense it takes your breath. The Quintana's Caleyo (www.quintanadelcaleyo.com) is not only an architectural jewel Asturian but a Haven of peace and tranquility that liberated us from all the stress accumulated throughout the year.
We were greeted by Antonio and Iñaki, father and son, with a wonderful smile, a relaxed conversation promised that within a few minutes in our room we were going to find out. It was like landing in paradise out of this world.
The silence in the luminous room, furnished with period furniture directly told us, "take a little while in bed" ... and we had. When we realized and wape up, we had slept for an hour and still were not even five in the afternoon!
What else we would find? As part of a spectacular view all around Quintana, a different wordk between the walls of the hotel. Each corner gave us a reason to shoot our digital camera at least, twelve times each.
But the most surprising was to know that the hotel has a little brownie named Sindo Carrapiellos. This magical character makes mad the owners of Quintana but is part of the hotel.
The other part is their breakfast and dinners, cookes by Mª Jesús, Antonio’s wife. She’s a lovely lady who takes care of each detail of this house.
We enjoyed of each minute of that days in the hotel and visiting Salas, Avilés, Oviedo….Asturias, my beatiful land forever.
I highly recommend this marvellous hotel in which you will be perfectly served in english.
